Reannouncing with a twist

TAM Online Survey

So last time I sent out the announcement to UTPA faculty, on a Friday, I sent it through a list serve. In two weeks I received 24 responses. Today, I sent out messages in the morning to 63 faculty, professors and lecturers, individually (started at 8:30AM... some breaks as faculty came in for assistance with Blackboard). That was this morning, and I have received over 15 responses within 4 hours, its 12 noon right now. I was wondering if the reason for the limited responses was because I sent the announcement on a Friday. Perhaps many didn't check their email so that on Monday, they would have had several messages in their inbox that they may have missed the announcement. After today, I want to hold for about a month to see how many responses I get to see if I need to send another announcement.

Ok. I am up to 41 responses and it's 2:16PM. My minimum goal is 50 and hoping for 100.

I am going to find out if I can get responses from graduate students that are also teaching to see their responses.

Delphi Model Questionnaire

I have placed the responses of the questionnaire in a word document without any identifying information. I mixed the responses for each of the answers. I am still waiting for 2 more in order to begin Round 1. How I have done it is first request their participation through email individually and attach the IRB approved consent form. Once they respond, then I send them an email with the questions. Once I get everyone's response, I will place all their responses in a word document and send them the questions again and ask them to read the responses and in light of those responses look at the questions again and respond to them.

Field Based Experiences

Today I plan to attend a school board meeting. I am really curious about the experience. I'll share how it went later

New updates

Well, it was quite the experience in working and submitting my IRB. I am really grateful for my site supervisors help as well as my supervisor in being additional eyes and giving me feedback on my survey questions. It seemed like once I submitted my IRB, there was a bit of back and forth in placing additional information as well as modifying some things. It was a good experience. I am using Qualtrics not survey monkey, as the University now requires all online surveys to use it. It was easy to learn.
I had released my online survey 2 weeks ago. I was sooo excited. Thus far I have only gotten 24 submissions, I plan to send out another email on that to get more submissions. For the Delphi Model Questionnaire I have gotten 5 volunteers. I have recieved their initial responses and will proceed with Round 1. Let's see how it goes.

Lessons Learned. I should have held off sending the questions to the Delphi Model to give more time for people to respond. Some will have waited a bit longer to receive everyone's responses.
